63kV Transmission Reconfiguration, Replacement & Salvage — Kootenay Region, BC
Maple Leaf Power Corporation completed a large-scale 63kV transmission reconfiguration and salvage program across two circuits in the Kootenay region of BC. The scope included 71 structure replacements, 207 structure reframes, and 533 structure salvages across both lines.
Over 141,000 metres of copper wire was reclaimed and tracked through a formal Chain of Custody procedure throughout the salvage process, ensuring full accountability for all recovered conductor material. The project required careful planning and sequencing to manage simultaneous construction, reframe, and salvage activities across both circuits safely and efficiently.
