WILDFIRE MITIGATION

Fire mesh installation on wood transmission and distribution poles

Wildfire poses a significant and growing threat to power line infrastructure. Wood transmission and distribution poles in high fire-hazard areas are vulnerable to both direct flame contact and airborne ember accumulation, damage that can cause extended outages, costly repairs, and risks to public safety.

Maple Leaf Power Corporation installs wildfire protective mesh on wood poles, reducing the risk of ignition and helping utilities protect critical infrastructure in fire-prone regions. Mesh is applied from the base of each pole to a specified height, determined in accordance with client requirements and site-specific conditions.

WHAT MESH DOES

Ember Protection

The mesh acts as a barrier against airborne ember accumulation at the base of wood poles — one of the primary ignition pathways during wildfire events.
